Snow River Unsparkling Rosato 2021

This rosé wine is made primarily from the Hokkaido variety "Seibelle 13053." This is the first wine that Yukikawa Brewery has produced and shipped since its establishment.

About this wine
This rosé wine is a blend of Seibel 13053 as the main grape, as well as Pinot Noir, Traminer, Sylvaner and Chardonnay.

This semi-dry wine has a sweet red berry aroma and a hint of sweetness, and is characterized by its fruity and light flavor. It is best served chilled in the refrigerator.

●Message from the producer
Aiming to create a wine that pairs well with Japanese food, we created a rosé wine using Seibel 13053 as the main grape, which is often brewed as a red wine.

Initially, we had planned to make it a slightly sparkling wine, but the fermentation process did not go as expected, so we ended up making it a rosé wine. Although the end result was different from our initial goal, it was a very delicious and pretty wine, so we decided to release it as is.

We named this wine "Unsparkling" because we wanted to express this history in a playful way.

Brewing Method

Seibel 13053 was harvested by hand on October 9th and 10th. The grapes were sorted and whole-cluster pressed, after which a small amount of sulfurous acid was added.

Pinot Noir, Traminer, Sylvaner, and Chardonnay were harvested by hand on October 17th. They were sorted and left in skin contact at low temperature for several hours while still in whole bunches. After whole bunch pressing, a small amount of sulfurous acid was added.

After racking, each variety of grape is fermented in stainless steel tanks using four different yeasts in four different tanks. The fermentation period is 14 days for the shortest and 25 days for the longest.

After fermentation, the four types of tanks are blended into one tank (stainless steel). After two months of storage, the wine is bottled. It is aged in the bottle for six months.
